What’s Best Engineering / College Degree for Navy Nukes and Nuke Veterans?

I get the same questions in my GMail month to month.
This one’s all about should I go to college after the Nuclear Program? What degree is best for Navy Nukes?

Second Version Of This Question….

  • I start college next semester & working for an engineering firm while attending college. What type of Engineering undergrad do you think makes me most marketable?
  • Should I minor in anything?
    • My opinion, if you’re getting an engineering degree, that’s all you need. Don’t bother minoring in anything. Although at the University of Houston all Engineering Majors automatically qualified for a minor in mathematics. Cuz it’s a ton o math.

Third Version of This Question…answered in the video

  • I’m trying to decide between an engineering / techincal degree (STEM) vs. a Business Degree like Finance, Management, or Accounting. What do you think a Nuke should do?

Fourth Version of This Question…answered in the video

  • I’m looking for an advanced degree / post-grad degree…Should I go to law school or get an MBA, or get an Engineering Masters / Doctorate / STEM Advanced Degree.

Fifth Version of This Question…answered in the video

  • I kind of want to explore getting out of engineering, but not really sure. What do you think?

    What I’m really saying is…

For most of you who are asking this, what you’re really asking is…How can I make the most money?

Right?

That’s the only reason we go to college…to learn how to make money.

Well, guess what…THEY DON’T TEACH YOU HOW TO MAKE MONEY IN COLLEGE.

So…I always advise people to just take the easiest path to getting a decent job, then learn to make money on your free time.

As a Nuke, you already have marketable skills. Skip college (says the guy with a Bachelors and a Doctorate), get any job making decent money. And then when everyone else is sleeping / partying / resting / vacationing / clubbing…you learn how to make money.

Start some side hustle. Then one day your side hustle kills your day job.

College is bull crap.
